About the role

The Department of Communication prepares students for success through various communication skills and prepares them for diverse career paths.

Responsibilities

  • Teach coursework in Multimedia Journalism, Media Production, Photojournalism, Public Relations, Advertising, Communication Organizational Studies, Media Studies, Research Methods, Rhetoric, Argumentation, Public Speaking, and Interpersonal Communication.
  • Candidates with experience producing documentaries, media in other countries, and/or media for social justice are preferred.
  • Candidates may be asked to provide evidence of scholarship, creative work, or teaching via peer-review of teaching, student-faculty evaluations, syllabi, course assignments, and samples of student work.

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications include a suitable Master’s degree in an area of specialization; Ph.D. preferred.

Benefits

The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.

Pay

Rank and salary: Lecturer. Salary is dependent upon educational preparation and experience.

Schedule

Date of appointment: Fall Semester begins August 17, 2026; Spring Semester begins January 19, 2027.
