Lecturer Pool in Department of Forestry, Fire, & Rangeland Management (Academic Year 26/27)

About the role

The Department of Forestry, Fire, & Rangeland Management invites qualified applicants to join our Temporary Faculty Pool. Courses in the department teach students to connect with and manage forests, fire, and rangelands, working toward a more sustainable future. We offer three Bachelor of Science degrees—Forestry, Applied Fire Science and Management, and Rangeland Resource Science—and a Master of Science in Natural Resources with an option in Forestry, Watershed & Wildland Sciences. At Cal Poly Humboldt, students gain hands-on learning in some of the world’s most spectacular and important forests and rangelands, personal attention from faculty, and a clear path to careers outdoors. Our faculty work closely with students to prepare them for careers with government, Tribal, and private employers.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications vary by specialization. Preference is given to candidates with a master’s degree and prior teaching experience.

• Forestry – B.S. in Forestry or a related field; M.S. in Forestry preferred.
• Geospatial Analysis – B.S. in Geospatial Science with an emphasis in Remote Sensing or a related field; M.S. preferred.
• Rangeland Resources – B.S. in Rangeland Resources or a related field; M.S. preferred.
• Soil – B.S. in Soils or Agronomy or a related field; M.S. preferred.
• Watershed – B.S. in Hydrology or a related field; M.S. preferred.

All candidates must have prior or current experience related to the content of the courses they would teach.

Positions are filled on an as-needed basis.

Salary

Salaries are prorated based on the number of units taught and are paid in six monthly installments per full semester. Monthly base salaries for the Lecturer classification are as follows:

• Lecturer A: $5,507 – $6,677
• Lecturer B: $6,221 – $13,224
• Lecturer C: $6,825 – $14,523
