Lecturer Pool - Wildfire Sciences AY 2026/27
About the role
The Department of Biological Sciences at California State University San Marcos accepts applications on an ongoing basis for its Wildfire Sciences pool of part-time lecturers. Applicant pools are used to fill short-term temporary Lecturer positions across the campus, with the possibility of rehiring. The pool may be used to fill vacant positions on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses related to Wildfire Sciences
- Develop and deliver course materials
- Maintain classroom safety and order
- Evaluate student performance and provide feedback
- Participate in departmental meetings and committees
Requirements
- An associate's degree in Fire Sciences
- Demonstrable professional experience in the subject matter of the class
- Minimum one semester of college-level teaching experience
Preferred qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Fire Sciences
- Five (5) or more years of professional experience in wildfire
- Demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving the campus community
Qualifications
- Out-of-state employment policy prohibits performing CSU-related work outside California
- Must be able to work in the State of California
Benefits
Salary commensurate with degree level and experience.
Pay
Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $2,279 per Weighted Teaching Unit (WTU)
