About the role

The Department of Communication and Media Studies at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach MDIA 322: Media Power.

Responsibilities

• In-person classroom instruction
• Use of Learning Management Systems such as Canvas, Moodle, or Blackboard
• Teach courses in Communication and Media Studies programs

Requirements

• ABD in Communication/Media Studies or closely related field
• Experience and demonstrated effectiveness with in-person classroom instruction and Learning Management Systems
• Pertinent expertise to teach courses in Communication/Media Studies programs
• Higher education teaching experience with minimum of 1 year as teacher of record

Preferred qualifications

• A doctorate in Communication/Media Studies or closely related field
• Demonstrated intercultural competence and commitment to serving a diverse campus community

Benefits

Salary commensurate with degree level and experience

Pay

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,507 - $8,000 per full-time month

Schedule

Day/Time: Tuesday and Thursday, from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m.
