About the role

The Department of Communication and Media Studies at California State University San Marcos seeks to fill a pool of part-time lecturers to teach lower and upper division courses, as well as GEO 102: General Education - Oral Communication.

Responsibilities

  • Teach lower and upper division courses in Communication and Media Studies
  • Teach GEO 102: General Education - Oral Communication
  • Use Learning Management Systems such as Canvas, Moodle, or Blackboard

Requirements

  • ABD in Communication/Media Studies or closely related field
  • Experience and demonstrated effectiveness with in-person classroom instruction
  • Pertinent expertise to teach courses in Communication/Media Studies programs
  • Higher education teaching experience with minimum of 1 year as teacher of record

Qualifications

  • A doctorate in Communication/Media Studies or closely related field preferred
  • Demonstrated intercultural competence and commitment to serving the campus community

Skills

  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to teach in diverse learning environments

Benefits

This position offers a salary commensurate with degree level and experience, with an anticipated hiring range at or near the minimum of the appropriate range.

Pay

The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.

Schedule

Appointments may last from one day to a whole semester.
