The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies empowers educators to become effective leaders in times of ambiguity and challenge. The department delivers a graduate curriculum featuring a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Higher Education and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, with a focus on responsive community partnerships.

About the Role

The Department of Educational Leadership & Policy Studies invites applications for a Lecturer position beginning in Summer 2026. The primary responsibility is teaching graduate-level courses within the department’s core curriculum, contributing to the mission of preparing transformational leaders in K-12 Educational Leadership and/or Higher Education Administration. The expected teaching load is a minimum of one course per semester.

Responsibilities

• Teach graduate-level courses in K-12 Educational Leadership and/or Higher Education Administration.
• Contribute to the department’s mission of preparing transformational leaders.

Requirements

• Earned doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership, Higher Education Administration, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching graduate-level courses, as evidenced by teaching evaluations, syllabi samples, or other relevant documentation.
• Record of successful teaching experience in higher education, online and/or in-person settings.
• Commitment to the department’s mission of preparing leaders for multifaceted and challenging educational contexts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of graduate-level teaching experience at an accredited institution of higher education.
• For K-12 Program candidates: Certification as an Advancing Educational Leadership (AEL) Trainer of Trainers (TOT) and/or Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) Trainer of Trainers (TOT). Completion of Field Supervisor Coaching Training for Advanced Certification Candidates.
• For Higher Education Program candidates: Teaching or professional experience within Higher Education or Community College settings.

Pay

$3,500 per course.

This position will work both on campus and remotely in Texas. Travel and parking expenses are the employee’s responsibility. A successful background check and proof of eligibility to work in the United States are required.
