The University of California, San Diego Department of Education Studies invites applications for the position of Non-Senate Faculty (temporary/part-time lecturer) to teach undergraduate courses as well as courses in the graduate programs during the academic year.

About the role

The successful candidate will share the department's commitment to excellence and diversity, transforming educational systems to better serve all students. They will collaborate with colleagues to develop and deliver courses in the department’s undergraduate minor/major and advanced degree programs.

Responsibilities

  • Teach/co-teach undergraduate minor/major and advanced degree courses in the department’s curriculum.
  • Assign grades, hold office hours, and prepare course materials.
  • Participate in advising and mentoring students.
  • Teach in-person classes on the UC San Diego Campus.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Education, Social Sciences, or Humanities.
  • At least six years of strong and demonstrated commitment to furthering equity, diversity, and the improvement of public education.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and practice experience in the subject matter field with diverse populations for at least one year.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD or EdD in Education, Social Sciences, or Humanities.
  • One year of university-level teaching or mentoring experience in a specialization.
