Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the site leadership team to provide oversight and resources for clinical staff.
  • Oversee and assure effective planning and patient care from admission to discharge is performed in a timely manner by staff.
  • Ensure all staff scheduling and coverage needs are met.
  • Collaborate with the Director/Manager of Operations to establish goals that are consistent with the job description duties, program requirements, and mission of the system; communicate goals to staff and evaluate/report progress.
  • Participate in staff evaluations.
  • Promote a team environment by example, participating in workload completion, and accepting patient assignments.
  • Involve the Director/Manager of Operations when any employee-related issues arise; assist employees in professional growth.
  • Participate in department and multidisciplinary meetings; provide timely communication and problem resolution.
  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of organized, regular oversight of staff; follow cases to provide feedback for the improvement of the quality of care delivered by staff.
  • Participate in the orientation and supervision of new staff and student interns; track and log supervision to identify content and focused goals for improvement.
  • Provide patient care:
    • Accept patient assignment and requests for coverage.
    • Provide effective group, individual, and/or family therapy as necessary.
    • Participate in interdisciplinary staffing by being prepared to discuss each patient’s progress.
  • Conduct medical record audits to identify deficiencies, improve quality of care, and ensure consistency:
    • Ensure all deficiencies in medical record documentation, assessments, and required forms are resolved immediately.
    • Complete audit of 20% of charts based on daily census for all programs.
    • Record results of audited records and make recommendations of error or quality trends to be improved.
    • Provide feedback, education, and observations to the staff member, Director/Manager of Operations, and Clinical Director/Supervisor.
  • Assist in the recruitment process, including conducting comprehensive and fair interviews leading to timely recruitment decisions.
  • Participate in the System’s marketing/outreach activities:
    • Interact with the Outreach Representative to communicate customer-related issues as directed; participate in the customer feedback process when necessary.
    • Collaborate with Director/Manager of Operations and Outreach Representative to participate in outreach visits, educational talks, or other community events.
  • Promote a team atmosphere by treating individuals with respect and honesty; use direct communication and active listening skills.
  • Be open to change and actively support it; be receptive to others’ ideas and points of view.
  • Use emotional intelligence to effectively communicate, lead, and develop leaders and staff.
  • Evaluate employees objectively and provide periodic coaching and feedback.
  • Ensure all team members follow Rogers’ policies and procedures.
  • Promote department goals and the mission of Rogers; communicate goals to staff and demonstrate measurable goal achievement.
  • Maintain department policies and procedures; assist in educating new staff regarding regulations or requirements.
  • Resolve individual issues with peers in a positive, solutions-focused manner; collaborate with human resources on conflict resolution and investigations.
  • Maintain an understanding of any variance and its impact on the department budget.
  • Demonstrate ability to influence departments within Rogers and provide leadership guidance.
  • Include requirements and guidelines from external agencies (e.g., Joint Commission, State of Wisconsin).
  • Participate in Rogers’ committees, performance improvement team meetings, and team projects as directed.
  • Demonstrate punctuality, preparedness, effective communication, and good organizational skills.
  • Contribute in a positive, solution-focused manner; conduct self in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills that promote timely response to all inquiries and task completion.
  • Communicate with all individuals in a positive and professional manner; attempt to resolve issues calmly with a focus on solutions.
  • Project a professional image by wearing appropriate, professional attire.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field from an accredited school of Social Work, Professional Counseling, or Family Therapy.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in health care and at least two (2) years in a psychiatric setting (preferred).
  • Full, independent licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent in the state of practice (e.g., LPCC, LMHC).
  • If working in a program requiring substance use credentialing, a SAC-IT, SAC, or CSAC is preferred in WI; a substance abuse specialty authorization applicable to the state hired in is required.
  • Working knowledge of therapeutic intervention and techniques for all age groups, as well as the dynamics of human growth and behavior.
  • Per program description, this job may include duties of cognitive behavioral therapies in addition to social services.
  • American Red Cross Professional Rescue certification required within thirty (30) days of hire; bi-annual re-certification required.
  • Formal training in the management of the aggressive patient (NCI) required within sixty (60) days of hire; annual re-certification required.
  • Attend all mandatory in-services and other relevant in-services.
  • Be responsible for all educational requirements and related obligations pertaining to the license of the program/unit and regulatory requirements governing the program(s).
