New-employee retention bonus: $2,000 for in-training licensure, $4,000 for full licensure (new employee defined as someone employed six months or less).

Schedule

  • Full time, 40 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday
  • No weekends, holidays, or on-call shifts

Responsibilities

  • Lead collaboration among an interdisciplinary team to develop, coordinate, and facilitate all direct social-services interventions for assigned patients and their support systems.
  • Use empirically supported therapeutic techniques (CBT, DBT, family therapy) to stabilize and support recovery of individuals with mental and behavioral health concerns.
  • Create a safe, supportive environment where patients explore the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and work toward their goals.
  • Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments to identify patients’ mental-health concerns, strengths, and challenges.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans; guide clinical interventions and facilitate treatment-team meetings.
  • Provide counseling and support using evidence-based techniques in sessions and in-the-moment within the milieu.
  • Educate patients about their condition, self-care strategies, treatment options, and aftercare plans.
  • Maintain detailed, timely documentation of therapy sessions, patient progress, goals, and interventions.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, case managers, and external professionals to coordinate care.
  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Participate in continuing education to stay current on research and best practices.
  • Report and document suspected cases of abuse or neglect according to state law and system policy.
  • Demonstrate professional conduct, interdisciplinary collaboration, assertive communication, and receptivity to feedback.
  • Support staffing and scheduling changes when program or patient-care needs require.
  • Participate in clinical initiatives, projects, and activities that support system-wide continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, state, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Promote patient safety and facility safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including maintaining current knowledge of department processes, pursuing self-directed learning, and serving on committees or task forces.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Professional Counseling, Family Therapy, or related field from an accredited institution; healthcare and psychiatric-setting experience preferred.
  • Minimum in-training licensure as LPC-IT, MFT-TL, APSW, or equivalent in the state of practice.
  • If working in a program requiring substance-use credentialing: SAC-IT, SAC, or CSAC in Wisconsin, or equivalent substance-use specialty authorization in the state hired.
  • Working knowledge of therapeutic interventions and techniques for all age groups, and of human growth and behavior.
  • On-the-job training requirements:
    • Compliance with Residential Care Center (RCC) and Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF) standards (required for residential inpatient programs, preferred for all levels of care).
    • American Heart Association CPR certification within 30 days of hire; bi-annual re-certification.
    • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) training within 60 days of hire/transfer; annual re-certification.
    • Attendance at all mandatory in-services and other relevant training.
    • Responsibility for all educational requirements and obligations pertaining to licensure and program/unit regulatory requirements.
  • For residential programs: current, active driver’s license in good standing (preferred for all levels of care).
