Responsibilities
- Performs duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation.
- Supervises staff assigned within specific areas or procedure rooms of the department.
- Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires.
- Ensures and oversees proper staffing levels for the areas of assigned supervision and makes adjustments as required for absenteeism, vacation and workload variables.
- Supervises the technical staff and provides input, when asked, for annual performance evaluations of assigned staff.
- Recommends promotions, disciplinary measures and other administrative actions.
- Troubleshoots and resolves errors in Radiology reports and patient exam orders, correcting orders when necessary.
- Ensures the quality of the radiographs presented to the Radiologists meet the standards set forth by the Radiology Department.
- Captains the repair of malfunctioning equipment and maintenance within the department.
- Provides leadership in the area of Patient and Physician Satisfaction.
- With the approval of the Operations Manager and Chief Tech, provides input on new employee selection and assists in interviews when dealing with hires in their area of supervision.
Qualifications
- REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- EXPERIENCE: 2 years' experience as a Radiologic Technologist
- LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS: ARRT-R (ARRT-RADIOGRAPHY), BLS (Basic Life Support) Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association OR CPR (Cardiopulmonary Respiration) Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 90 days of hire
- MUST BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY IN ENGLISH (VERBAL/WRITTEN).
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 2 years of supervisory experience
