Lead Pastry Chef/Cake Decorator

Walters Wedding Estates, a Walters Hospitality brand, is seeking a professional, self-motivated Bakery Assistant/Cake Decorator to create dream wedding cakes in a fun working environment. This is a part-time, hourly position with a fluctuating schedule based on wedding season demand. Weekend availability is required for deliveries.

About the role

Location: Houston, TX. Normal bakery operating hours are 9:30 AM–6 PM. Pay: $20–$24 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Bake cakes and desserts
• Decorate cakes using techniques such as stone, horizontal, stucco, wedding dots, and palette textures
• Apply food coloring, fondant, edible images, and custom cake designs

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent; culinary degree preferred
• Minimum 2 years of cake decorating experience
• ServSafe Food Handlers certification or equivalent
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift 50 lbs
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
• Eligible to work in the United States; background check required
