Responsibilities

The Lead Medical Assistant (MA) will assist management in the day-to-day operations of the clinic, focusing on medical support and patient care. This role requires strong clinical skills and expertise in relevant systems and processes, along with the ability to model, train, and promote high-functioning clinical support staff.

  • Successfully perform the responsibilities of a Senior Medical Assistant.
  • Lead the day-to-day work and productivity of patient care staff.
  • Advise and assist staff on problem-solving patient/customer concerns and address issues related to clinic operations.
  • Perform specialized medical procedures of a routine nature, as dictated by established clinical protocol.
  • Serve as a clinical preceptor to enhance training and improve skill deficiencies among staff.
  • Support management in areas such as scheduling, daily work assignments, hiring, training, employee engagement, performance management, identifying areas for service or operational improvement, and reinforcing established expectations from management.

Requirements

Internal Candidates

  • Certification AND 2 years of tenure with OSUP, with one year in a Senior role, OR
  • 2 years of tenure with OSUP, with one year in a Senior role AND a minimum of 7 years of prior MA experience (may include internal or external experience).

External Candidates

  • 2 years of certification or 7 years of overall Medical Assistant experience.
  • Prior experience working in a preceptor designation preferred.
  • Current BLS Certification (preferred).
  • Experience with EMR (preferred).
  • Medical Assistant Certification (preferred).

Pay

USD $22.09 - USD $33.13 per hour.
