Responsibilities
- Provide massage and body treatments in accordance with Keswick Hall Spa treatment protocols and luxury service standards.
- Train, mentor, and support new and existing massage therapists through onboarding, treatment sign-offs, ongoing coaching, and refresher trainings.
- Develop, implement, and maintain spa treatment protocols to ensure consistency, service excellence, and accuracy within the protocol handbook.
- Support daily massage operations by monitoring service flow, product usage, treatment timing, and overall guest experience standards.
- Assist Spa Leadership with therapist scheduling, shift coverage, recruiting, interviews, onboarding, and annual performance development.
- Foster a collaborative, positive team culture while upholding professional standards in appearance, conduct, cleanliness, and guest care.
- Partner with Spa Leadership to develop seasonal offerings, enhance the spa menu, and support new treatment innovation initiatives.
- Maintain organization, cleanliness, safety, and Virginia licensures compliance throughout all treatment and employee areas.
- Oversee inventory of professional products and massage supplies, assist with ordering, and ensure all equipment is properly maintained and operational.
- Maintain accurate team records including licensure tracking, seniority lists, treatment sign-offs, and required compliance documentation.
- Collaborate closely with Spa Leadership and fellow department leads to support communication, training initiatives, spa projects, and operational goals.
- Act as Manager on Duty as needed, assisting with front desk support, guest relations, operational coverage, and overall spa flow.
- Promote spa, wellness, and resort offerings to guests and team members while supporting guest satisfaction and service recovery efforts when needed.
- Participate in spa meetings, resort initiatives, sustainability efforts, and additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current Massage Therapy License in the State of Virginia in good standing.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of massage therapy experience, preferably within a luxury spa, resort, or wellness environment.
- Strong knowledge of massage modalities, body treatments, spa operations, sanitation standards, and treatment protocols.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a passion for mentoring, coaching, and supporting team development.
- Exceptional guest service skills with the ability to create warm, personalized, luxury-level experiences.
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to lead by example in professionalism, teamwork, accountability, and guest care.
- Comfortable performing in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and service excellence.
- Experience with training, onboarding, treatment quality assurance, and operational support preferred.
- Able to assist with scheduling, inventory management, and daily operational responsibilities as needed.
- Flexible schedule availability including weekends, holidays, and peak resort periods.
- Ability to stand to extended periods and perform physical aspects of massage and spa services.
