About the role

Pleasanton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a Generations Healthcare facility, seeks a Lead Cook to assist in all food functions and coordinate with other departments.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect special diet trays to assure correct diet is served to residents.
  • Complete necessary forms, reports, and submit to Director of Food Services.
  • Cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
  • Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus.
  • Ensure food procedures are followed.
  • Process diet changes and new diets as received from nursing services.
  • Assist with scheduling work hours and staff assignments.
  • Maintain productive working relationships with dietary staff.
  • Develop and implement procedures for efficient use of food service supplies.
  • Perform independent decisions when circumstances warrant.

Requirements

  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Able to make independent decisions.
  • Able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
  • Knowledgeable of food procedures.
  • Leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
  • Able to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Able to maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, and work areas.
  • Able to seek out new methods and principles.

Qualifications

  • Able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
  • Able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
  • Knowledgeable of food procedures.
  • Leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
  • Able to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Able to maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, the appearance of work areas, and perform regular inspections of food service areas for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties.
  • Able to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing food practices.

Pay

$23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Schedule

Full Time - Must Be Flexible On Shift (AM or PM) & Days Worked / Per Diem Positions
