Experienced Cook – Skilled Nursing Facility

About the role

Bear Creek Nursing & Rehab Center is seeking an experienced Cook to join our dietary team. This is not a restaurant position. We are looking for someone who understands the importance of nutrition, dietary compliance, food safety, and consistency in a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, physician orders, and dietary restrictions - Ensure food is prepared, portioned, and presented according to facility standards - Follow therapeutic diet guidelines and special meal requirements - Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and infection control regulations - Complete temperature logs, production records, and required documentation - Assist with inventory management, food storage, and stock rotation - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment - Work closely with the Dietary Manager and the dietary team to ensure excellent resident satisfaction

Requirements

- Minimum of 1 year of cooking experience - Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed - Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices - Dependable attendance and strong work ethic

Qualifications

- Previous experience in: - Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF) - Long-Term Care - Hospitals - Rehabilitation Centers - Assisted Living Communities - Institutional Food Service - Experience preparing meals for residents with therapeutic diets and dietary restrictions - Knowledge of healthcare food service regulations and standards
