About the role

This position is responsible for serving food and beverages to guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner while adhering to all health regulations and local liquor laws. You will set up, maintain, and break down banquet rooms according to function specifications, ensuring exceptional guest service and an inviting atmosphere in alignment with Holiday Inn and brand standards.

Responsibilities

  • Anticipate and respond to guests in a friendly, positive, and timely manner, providing the highest quality service using proper serving techniques.
  • Work as a team player to meet guest needs and contribute to the efforts of other departments.
  • Follow Holiday Inn’s guest service recovery program.
  • Set up, maintain, and break down banquet rooms according to function specifications.
  • Bus trays in a timely manner and keep banquet areas, meeting rooms, and workspaces neat, clean, and presentable.
  • Adhere to all health regulations and local liquor laws.
  • Help control expenses by properly using banquet collateral and equipment and adhering to cost controls.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with Holiday Inn, local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Follow all Holiday Inn procedures for guest and associate incidents, and be knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures.
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize work duties to meet required workload volumes.
  • Adhere to Holiday Inn’s attendance policy, grooming/appearance standards, general work rules, and department procedures.
  • Attend all required department and hotel meetings.
  • Assist bartenders and collaborate with the team to ensure all guest needs are met.
  • Complete all assigned duties within or outside the normal scope of responsibilities.
  • Perform side work and take initiative to assist wherever necessary to contribute to the success of the guest experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
  • TIPS or CARE beverage service certification desired; ability to obtain certification is required.
  • One or more years of previous guest service experience.
  • Demonstrated exemplary customer service, attention to detail, and ability to perform job duties in a repetitious and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to speak, understand, and write English to meet guests’ needs.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to stand, walk, carry, and move about the property continuously throughout the shift.
  • One or more years of previous serving experience in a banquet environment preferred.

Pay

$17 - $18 an hour. The actual base pay offered is determined by qualifications, relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and other professional licenses held.
