About the role
This position is responsible for preparing and serving food and beverages to guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner while adhering to all health regulations and local liquor laws. You will ensure exceptional guest service and create an inviting atmosphere by following B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group and brand standards of quality.
Applicants must have availability to work at least two of the following evenings: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.
Responsibilities
- Guest Service: Anticipate and respond to guests in a friendly, positive, and timely manner. Provide the highest quality service and establish rapport with all guests. Follow the guest service recovery program, suggest improvements, and respond to feedback to maximize guest satisfaction scores.
- Serving Duties: Listen attentively, take orders accurately, and use proper serving techniques. Be knowledgeable about specials and promotions, actively up-sell menu items, and adhere to all health regulations and local liquor laws. Follow cash handling and POS procedures.
- Side Work: Complete required side work, including cleaning the restaurant, server stations, coffee stations, and coolers; vacuuming; trash removal; and stocking supplies.
- Expense Control: Follow procedures for handling cash and processing financial transactions. Ensure proper use of equipment and adhere to cost controls to reduce expenses and waste.
- Safety: Serve food and beverages and maintain a clean, safe work area in accordance with company, local, state, and federal regulations. Follow procedures for guest and associate incidents and be knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures.
- Self/Workload Management: Plan, organize, and prioritize work duties to meet required volume. Adhere to attendance policies, grooming/appearance standards, general work rules, and department procedures. Attend all required meetings.
- Teamwork: Work collaboratively with others, including taking room service orders, assisting the bartender, and contributing to the efforts of other departments to meet guest needs. Complete all assigned duties within or outside the normal scope of responsibilities.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- TIPS or CARE beverage service certification desired; ability to obtain certification is required.
- One or more years of previous guest service experience.
- Demonstrated exemplary customer service, attention to detail, and ability to perform job duties in a repetitious and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to speak, understand, and write English to meet guests' needs.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the shift.
- Ability to complete physically demanding responsibilities, including walking, standing, carrying, and lifting continuously throughout the shift.
- One or more years of previous serving experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment preferred.
Pay
$11 - $11 an hour. The actual base pay offered is determined by several variables, including the applicant's qualifications, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, and certifications or professional licenses held.
