About the role

This position is responsible for anticipating guest needs, exceeding expectations, and implementing creative solutions to provide exceptional service. You will process check-ins and check-outs, assist guests with reservations and requests, and uphold the high standards of quality set by B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group to ensure guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Guest Service: Anticipate and respond to guests in a friendly and positive manner. Provide the highest level of service by processing check-ins/check-outs, verifying billing, creating reservations, and handling special requests. Share knowledge of hotel property, local attractions, and hotel services. Work as a team player to meet guest needs and support other departments. Follow the guest service recovery program.
  • Financial Results and Cost Control: Utilize proper selling techniques to maximize room revenues. Monitor room availability, enforce booking policies, and drive sales through up-selling rooms and amenities. Follow procedures for handling cash and financial transactions. Ensure proper use of equipment and adhere to cost controls to reduce expenses.
  • Self/Workload Management: Plan, organize, and prioritize work duties to meet required volume. Adhere to company work rules and department procedures. Attend all required meetings.
  • Safety/Risk Management: Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with company, brand, and regulatory standards. Follow procedures for guest and team member incidents. Be knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ years of prior guest service experience, preferably in a hospitality setting.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, customer-focused mindset, and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis.

Schedule

This position is scheduled to work the 3pm - 11pm shift with varying days off. Weekend availability is required.

Pay

$17 - $17 an hour. The actual base pay offered is determined by variables such as qualifications, relevant experience, skills, education, and certifications.

Base pay is one component of the total compensation package, which also includes healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, and bonus plans.
