Lead Automotive Instructor
About the role
The Automotive Instructor at Goodwill Industries of Michiana is responsible for delivering ASE-aligned training, developing and facilitating curriculum, and preparing participants for entry-level employment in the automotive industry.
Responsibilities
- Deliver ASE-aligned training
- Develop and facilitate curriculum
- Prepare participants for entry-level employment in the automotive industry
- Teach core competencies including automotive safety, repair theory, diagnostics, brakes, steering and suspension, and engine repair
- Integrate customer service and workplace readiness skills
- Oversight of day-to-day program operations
- Track participant progress
- Maintain required records to meet program and grant outcomes
- Collaborate with the Career and Technical Education team, Success Coach, Career Navigator, and employer partners to support participant success and job placement
Requirements
Must have a valid driver's license and a minimum of 2 years of experience in the automotive industry, including experience teaching or instructing in a vocational setting.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. Certification as an ASE Master Automobile Technician is highly desirable.
Skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively with diverse populations and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
