About the role

The Fairbanks Law Office Manager oversees the operations of both the Fairbanks and Utqiagvik District Attorney's Offices. This role includes providing leadership and direction to administrative support staff, executing administrative duties such as managing financial documents, handling human resource tasks, coordinating travel arrangements, maintaining office equipment, and working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external agencies.

Requirements

This position is open to Alaska residents only. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a limited government Notary and pass a criminal background check.

Qualifications

Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in:

  • Legal, Government, and Jurisprudence: Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, legal practices and documents, Government regulations, Executive orders, agency rules, Government organization and functions, and the democratic political process.
  • Managing Human Resources: Plans, distributes, coordinates, and monitors work assignments of others; evaluates work performance and provides feedback to others on their performance; ensures that staff are appropriately selected, utilized, and developed, and that they are treated in a fair and equitable manner.
  • Attention To Detail: sees and pays attention to details; recognizes the component parts of a procedure or object, and can verify correctness or error in an individual part or procedure.
  • Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
  • Reasoning: Identifies rules, principles, or relationships that explain facts, data, or other information; analyzes information and makes correct inferences or draws accurate conclusions.
  • Technical Competence: Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform one's job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues.

Skills

Equivalent To Those Typically Gained By Training and/or education as a paralegal, legal assistant, legal secretary, or in criminal justice, administrative office technology, business and marketing management, entrepreneurship, office assistance, or similar fields, and/or progressively responsible experience preparing and processing legal documents and correspondence in a legal office or law enforcement environment or performing a variety of administrative support functions for an office.

Pay
