Lamination Machine Operator - 1st Shift (M-TH)

About the role

ePac Flexible Packaging is a global company with operations in multiple continents, dedicated to providing innovative packaging solutions for consumer packaged goods (CPGs). This role is located at a 10-hour shift, Monday through Thursday.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and ensures proper materials are used for production to avoid errors and ensure materials match requirements.
• Runs the correct amount of material/footage to the job order and performs proper checking of production and materials.
• Prepares for production at the end of each day for the following day.
• Performs all required quality checks before producing all production orders to ensure they can be processed at the next stage of the manufacturing process.
• Loads and unloads material from the laminators using defined equipment.
• Set up and operate specific laminating machines according to company laminating procedures and guidelines.
• Performs daily and periodic preventative maintenance duties specified for assigned machines/equipment.
• Maintains cleanliness of machines/equipment and adjacent work area.
• Reports quality issues and food safety violations to the Production Manager.

Qualifications

• Experience in production, lamination, and printing settings is preferred but not required.
• Responsibility in the area of food safety is essential.
• Ability to pass training tests/methods to become qualified on one or more alternative production machines such as slitting, pouching, and printing.

Skills

• Ability to read rulers, understand gauges, and use a micrometer.
• Testing of equipment.
• Understanding of the lamination process.
• Multiple machine qualifications preferred but not required.
• Troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to complete production-related documentation on both computer and paper forms.
• Ability to work additional overtime if required.

Pay

The pay range for this role is $21 - $21 USD per hour (Chicago).
