About the role

The Lamination Machine Operator 1 is responsible for following production schedules, handling coated goods production, maintaining equipment quality, and ensuring a clean work environment. The role also involves reporting finished products to SAP orders, storing products using a forklift, and adjusting equipment to maintain quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Follows the requirements of the assigned SAP schedule to meet production demand.
  • Reads the order for the specific material.
  • Confirms that the material on the machine matches the SAP order.
  • Helps with machine setup based upon established specifications.
  • Takes samples to give to QA.
  • Reports the finished product to SAP order.
  • Stores the product using a forklift (after attaining Forklift certification – Milliken provides the training).
  • Unloads and loads lamination equipment with material.
  • Adjusts equipment to maintain proper quality standards.
  • Cleans production area and assigned equipment.
  • Notifies Supervisor and/or operator of any problems.
  • Completes projects and tasks assigned.
  • Advises the Production Manager on issues and improvements pertaining to areas of responsibility.
  • Cleans pumps and other production equipment.
  • Advises Supervisor/Leadership on issues regarding safety.
  • Ensures the compliance of procedures to all company policies.

Qualifications

  • High School degree or GED
  • Ability to communicate at all levels and with the ability to understand and communicate ideas both verbally and written.
  • Familiar with the operation of production machinery.
  • Ability to understand production schedules.
  • Good mechanical skills.
  • Ability to calculate and problem solve.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in English and Spanish

  • Standing: Ability to stand while working: 95% of day
  • Sitting: Ability to sit down: 5% of day
  • Moving: Ability to move throughout plant: 100% of day
  • Lifting: Ability to lift to 60 lbs.: 100% of day
  • Ascending/Descending: Ability to walk upstairs, climb to top of range (approx. 16 ft): 75% of day
  • Push/Pull/Reach: Ability to push/pull fabric rolls, A-frames (approx. 1500 lbs): 10% of day
  • Bending: Ability to pick up objects from the floor: 25% of day
  • Visual Acuity: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens. 5% of day
  • Cognitive: Alert. Able to make decisions, reason, and understand information. 100% of day

Work Environment/Safety-Sensitive Position

This job operates in a manufacturing facility. This position is a safety-sensitive position and regularly works around moving mechanical parts and powered industrial vehicles. Noise level is generally loud. Temperatures can vary depending upon the time of year and outside impacts.

Shift/Work Hours

  • To be determined at time of hire
  • OT when scheduled

Pay Transparency

The hourly rate range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00; the exact hourly rate depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education and budget.
