Lamination Machine Operator - 1st Shift

About the role

Atlas Molded Products is seeking a 1st Shift Machine Operator for the Byron Center, MI plant.

Responsibilities

• General understanding of manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations, safety requirements, and departmental procedures.
• Operate equipment such as the Pre-Expander, Mold, Lamination Line, Block – Auto Line, etc.
• Verify equipment set-up prior to production runs, operate and shut down manufacturing equipment.
• Produce parts with correct material, density, weight, size, and shape within quality tolerance to meet job requirements and productivity standards.
• Monitor equipment, report malfunctions to supervisor, and assist with routine cleaning.
• Troubleshoot and adjust equipment settings as needed.
• Train new employees.
• Maintain proper work logs and complete required reports.
• Bundle, wrap, stack, pack, assemble, and label materials per production instructions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform other assigned functions and responsibilities.
• Adhere to general safety and Quality System Awareness requirements.
• Ensure regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken) preferred.
• Ability to use simple math and basic hand-held measuring tools.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Light to moderate physical effort, including sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, climbing steps or ladders, and reaching forward or above head level.
• Must be able to push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must safely operate assigned machinery.
• Tolerate temperature changes for the entire shift.
