Lactation Consultant - PRN

Role Overview The position provides lactation support, education, and assistance to mothers and families during hospital stays and post-discharge, ensuring a positive breastfeeding experience. It involves initiating and maintaining contact with mothers, coordinating outpatient care, and serving as a clinical and educational resource for staff and community outreach. Key responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating neonatal patient care activities in collaboration with nursing and ancillary teams. Functions are within the scope of nursing practice, aligned with organizational values, ethical standards, and relevant regulations. Flexibility in scheduling is required to facilitate patient contact, including working rotating weekends and evenings. Qualifications & Skills Graduate of an approved nursing program with current RN licensureMinimum of 1 year experienceCertified Lactation Consultant (CLC) certificationCurrent American Heart Association healthcare provider certification or completion within probationDemonstrated clinical expertise, strong communication skills, and ability to multitaskPreferred: BSN and experience in mother/baby care Key Duties Provide lactation support, education, and outpatient careCoordinate with hospital staff and community resources to ensure quality patient careEngage in community outreach and educational programsAssess and support neonatal patients, working within established nursing guidelinesAdapt to variable schedules, including evenings and weekends, to meet patient needs Join a compassionate team committed to patient-centered care, professional growth, and organizational values.
