Labor & Employment Attorney

About the role

Cozen O’Connor’s Denver office is seeking a Labor & Employment attorney to join their practice.

Responsibilities

• Supporting positive labor relations and providing advice and counseling
• Defending litigation and administrative charges involving union and non-union workplaces
• Advising on traditional labor matters such as union negotiations, collective bargaining, grievance, and arbitration issues
• Handling employment litigation and counseling
• Litigating claims involving discrimination and harassment, wage and hour, accessibility, and non-compete and confidentiality agreements
• Advising clients on employment law compliance, policies and procedures, employment contracts, discipline, terminations, reductions in force, and wage and hour audits
• Conducting workplace investigations

Requirements

• 5-10 years of experience working with both union and non-union workplaces
• Experience litigating claims involving discrimination and harassment, wage and hour, accessibility, and non-compete and confidentiality agreements
• Experience advising clients on employment law compliance, policies and procedures, employment contracts, discipline, terminations, reductions in force, and wage and hour audits
• Experience conducting workplace investigations

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Excellent academic credentials
• A license in good standing in Colorado

Skills

• Experience with traditional labor matters
• Ability to handle employment litigation and counseling
• Knowledge of employment law compliance, policies and procedures, employment contracts, discipline, terminations, reductions in force, and wage and hour audits
• Proficiency in conducting workplace investigations

Benefits

• The salary range for this role is $220,000 - $270,000
• Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, and location
