Responsibilities
- Prepares for all practical applications of the Baking and Pastry Arts (BPA) and Culinary Arts (CUL) laboratory experiments
- Prepares all ingredients, instruments and equipment needed to conduct BPA and CUL laboratory experiments in a safe and effective manner
- Maintains surpluses or removal of outdated or expired food ingredients, supplies and equipment
- Maintains, inventory and orders BPA and CUL ingredients, supplies, and equipment; confers with instructors to determine supply and equipment needs
- Maintains and organizes Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) files; keeps lab free from clutter
- Keeps laboratory areas clean and maintains safety equipment and supplies
Requirements
- Currently pursuing an Associate's degree in Baking with a minimum of 30 credit hours completed in Baking and Pastry Arts specific courses
- Current ServSafe certification
Qualifications
- Knowledge of ingredients, instruments and equipment associated with the BPA and CUL programs
- Knowledge of lab safety procedures and processes
- Active listening and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency in computer programs to include MS Office suite
- Excellent organizational skills
- Able to perform normal duties with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
