Kids Mountain Sports School Rental Support

About the role

Provide support to the children's ski school and instructors by fitting rental boots, adjusting rental binding, setting up and tearing down of outdoor beginner area, supervising children. May act as an assistant Instructor and help supervise lunch. May operate Magic Carpet.

Responsibilities

• Assures customer satisfaction with safe, friendly and efficient service
• Greets children and prepares rental slips
• Fits ski/snowboard equipment
• Takes inventory and maintains equipment
• Responsible for set up and tear down of beginner area
• May act as an assistant Instructor
• Support staff duties, supervising children, help with lunch
• Light cleaning duties Children's Center

Requirements

• Applicants must be 18 years of age
• Effective communication skills, oral & written
• Strong sense of customer service & safety awareness
• Able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
• Have a neat & clean appearance in compliance with the company grooming standards
• Punctual, able to report at scheduled start time
• Work well as part of a team
• Patient and remains calm in a fast paced and sometimes stressful work environment
• Enjoys working with children
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (preferred)
• Experience with children ages 3-13 (preferred)
• Customer service experience in a resort setting (preferred)
• Experience with point-of-sale software (RTP, Inntopia, etc.) (preferred)

Physical requirements

• Regularly required to walk, talk, see, and hear
• Capable of walking or standing 30% or more of a normal 8 hour work shift
• Capable of occasionally carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling up to 35lbs
• Capable of occasionally squatting, bending, kneeling, reaching, and balancing
• Able to climb ladders and shovel snow
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus

Working conditions

• Frequently exposed to outside weather conditions
• Frequently exposed to extreme cold, wetness and/or humidity
• Occasionally exposed to blizzards and extreme storm conditions
• Noise level is usually moderate
• Equipment used: Computers and printers

Pay

Base hourly pay range: $20.00 - $24.75 per hour. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel.
