About the role

The Junior Project Lead oversees the full project life cycle—from initiation to close-out—ensuring successful delivery within scope, on time, and within budget. This role involves leading project planning, execution, and monitoring activities, as well as managing risks, resources, and communications.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Lead planning activities to develop robust project plans, including resource and component requirements.
  • Execute project risk management activities, including risk identification, ranking, and contingency planning.
  • Manage daily project activities, such as schedule development, budget development, team leadership, communication, staffing, status reporting, and resource planning.
  • Facilitate effective project meetings, handle change and conflict, and ensure accountability among team members.
  • Identify and track critical path/activities, risks, contingencies, and alternatives; offer solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules.
  • Provide project updates to the team and management on work performed, plans, budget, and status.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors for precise project execution.
  • Develop resource planning estimates to prioritize project workload and ensure appropriate resource allocation.
  • Use verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, record minutes, track action items, and disseminate project information.
  • Follow up on action items between meetings and maintain shared file systems and databases with project status and key information.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (Engineering field preferred).
  • 1–3 years of experience in project coordination, logistics, support operations, or a related environment.
  • Highly preferred: Yellow Belt, Green Belt, or coursework in project or business operations.

Skills

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and collaborate across multiple areas to achieve business objectives.
  • Strong presentation skills to manage teams, resolve conflicts, and influence project outcomes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and maintain project documentation.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
