About the role

Full-time apprenticeship program that combines hands-on shop experience with monthly classroom instruction in Mitchell, South Dakota. Travel, food, lodging, and classes are fully paid. Program duration is 2–3 years (2 years with prior mechanic experience, 3 years without). Earn your John Deere Apprenticeship Certification while gaining paid work experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on John Deere agricultural equipment
• Work with diesel engines, hydraulics, electronics, and precision ag technology
• Use advanced diagnostic tools and software
• Complete digital service documentation
• Follow professional shop procedures and safety practices
• Work alongside experienced technicians who provide mentorship and training

Requirements

• Strong work ethic and desire to learn
• Mechanical aptitude and interest in equipment
• Ability to work full-time
• Valid driver’s license
