John Deere Apprentice - Roscoe, SD

About the role

This full-time apprenticeship program transforms participants into certified John Deere experts through hands-on shop work and monthly in-class instruction. Work in one of our 38 John Deere dealership locations across six states under experienced technicians, with all travel, food, lodging, and class expenses covered.

The program lasts 2–3 years (2 years with prior mechanic experience, 3 years with none). Earn your John Deere Apprenticeship Certification while gaining paid work experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on John Deere agricultural equipment
• Work with diesel engines, hydraulics, electronics, and precision ag technology
• Use advanced diagnostic tools and software
• Complete digital service documentation
• Learn professional shop procedures and safety practices
• Work alongside experienced technicians who mentor and train

Requirements

• Strong work ethic and desire to learn
• Mechanical aptitude and interest in equipment
• Ability to work full-time
• Valid driver’s license
