Position Information
The purpose of this position is to work on and manage all IT/Special Project development, deployment, and support for information systems and office operations. Includes support of case management systems, electronic (e-filing) systems, accounting systems, security of electronic records and record retention, local computer hardware/software, payment systems, and online services for Superior Court, State Court, and Juvenile Court. Includes support and direction of court employees in the use of software. This position reports to the Circuit Court Administrator and acts as a key member of Court Administration’s management staff.
Essential Functions
- Captures and organizes daily work activities; prioritizes tasks; monitors progress and quality of work; consults with staff to resolve complex problems; provides technical expertise.
- Designs, supervises, directs, evaluates, and supports all technological projects and processes; conducts training; attends training programs related to court systems, state agencies, and vendor training.
- Acts as liaison with IST department for installation, configuration, and maintenance of office information systems; maintains and upgrades servers; coordinates with IST counterparts at external agencies for technical issues, data sharing, and system integration.
- Purchases and coordinates with IST for computer systems and components; communicates with vendors for product information; provides input on hardware/software purchases and usage.
- Communicates with technical support representatives; provides information on operational and mechanical problems.
- Ensures operational and functional technical aspects of Justice Enterprise Case Management System, Tyler e-file, ResearchGA, and related technology systems; ensures compliance with laws, regulations, and guidelines.
- Coordinates and presents Court Administration’s internet presence, online legal documents, docket information, and links to other offices and agencies; communicates with State agencies, courts, and other entities for data information and updates.
- Maintains security measures for court, warrant, and accounting systems; develops and monitors internal control measures and sensitive information.
- Serves as a key member of the Emergency Response Team; coordinates and responds to emergencies affecting electronic data files.
- Identifies new processes and alternatives to improve operations; evaluates systems and programming to meet growing needs of the courts; attends meetings and serves on committees; compiles and prepares reports.
- Performs general/clerical tasks as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Public Administration, or closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Supplemented by six (6) years of experience and/or training in network administration, court administration, court based case management programs, system analysis, basic programming, systems administration, technical support, project management, and supervision.

- Personal Leave Accrual: 0 - 4 Years - 20 days per year - 6.16 hours per pay period; 5 - 14 Years - 25 days per year - 7.70 hours per pay period; 15+ Years - 30 days per year - 9.24 hours per pay period.

- Vision Insurance: Office visit copays for exams, as well as copays for lenses, frames, and contacts.
- Basic Life & AD&D Insurance: Term life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) protection for each full-time employee.
- Disability Insurance – Short Term and Long Term: 100% paid by Forsyth County. Short Term Disability – 60% of weekly earnings to a maximum of $1,000.00 a week; Long Term Disability – 60% of monthly earnings to a maximum of $5,000.00 a month.
- Additional Life Insurance and AD&D: Rates vary based on amount of coverage selected. Additional life insurance may be purchased for employee, spouse, and children.
- Retirement Plan (401K): Fully vested at five years of employment – 20% graduated vesting annually. Eligible to begin contributions immediately upon hire.
