IT Database Analyst I
About the role
Department: IT
Primary Purpose: Assists with the administration and maintenance of reporting and business intelligence infrastructure. Guides the development, maintenance, and support of customized database reports. Supports enterprise level reporting projects. Consults and assists other project efforts. Serves as an integral team member in the integration of solutions, designing systems, and development of business opportunities while working with business departments, functional experts, and IT resources. Provides report development backup support to other members of the report development group. Assists with the improvement of end-user access to data in ARUP corporate databases.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the administration and maintenance of reporting and business intelligence infrastructure.
- Support the creation of enterprise-level data utilization and analysis solutions to meet ARUP's business and clinical needs.
- Provide guidance to report developers and other data utilizers.
- Work with end users to understand their business reporting requirements and identify new data needs.
- Create custom code and scripts to support the delivery and presentation of data.
- Resolve reporting issues in a timely manner as needed.
- Maintain documentation on reports and data utilization processes.
- Work within department, company, and industry standard tools and processes.
- Support the investigation, planning, and implementation of improvements to reporting processes, tools, and environments.
- Participate in enterprise report developer meetings.
- Assist in evaluating, selecting, and implementing reporting tools and components.
- Create written reports of findings and recommendations on performance analysis, feasibility studies, and cost justification proposals.
- Maintain confidentiality of laboratory results and information according to ARUP policies.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in database administration, reporting, or related field.
- Experience with SQL, Python, or other programming languages.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in reporting and data management.
