Requirements

  • Enter and maintain daily receiving information, purchase orders, and related transactions in the ERP/inventory system on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
  • Review purchase orders to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications; follow up with vendors and internal stakeholders to expedite or adjust deliveries as needed
  • Maintain inventory levels against customer forecasts and usage data; analyze trends and variances to recommend adjustments that maintain optimal stock levels and support uninterrupted production
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts as well as coordinate and manage semi-annual physical inventory events, reconciling all discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Generate, review, and distribute inventory reports including stock levels, usage rates, and turnover metrics; maintain supporting Excel spreadsheets and data sets
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures in collaboration with operations management to drive accuracy and operational efficiency
  • Serve as the central point of contact for purchasing and inventory inquiries, maintaining clear and professional communication with internal departments, customers, and suppliers
  • Obtain vendor estimates and assist with sourcing activities to support purchasing decisions
  • Identify and resolve inventory and purchasing discrepancies or issues proactively, escalating as appropriate
  • Work comfortably in an industrial plant setting, building productive working relationships with production staff, machine operators, and floor supervisors to gather accurate material information and support day-to-day operational needs
  • Support special projects and other duties as assigned by management

Skills & Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of previous purchasing or inventory support experience required, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly MS Excel (spreadsheets, pivot tables, data sets, and reporting)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing principles with the ability to proactively identify and solve problems
  • Comfortable operating within an active industrial facility and communicating effectively with personnel across all operational levels
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with a professional and approachable demeanor
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines
  • Goal-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with routine interruptions

Work Environment

This position is based on-site within an active manufacturing facility. The employee will regularly move between office and production/warehouse areas to perform cycle counts, physical inventory activities, and day-to-day coordination with operations staff. The environment may include exposure to moving machinery, moderate to elevated noise levels, and varying temperatures typical of an industrial setting. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required in designated areas.
