About the role
As an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician at Pet Emergency & Referral Center (PERC), you will join a team that collaborates closely with clients and referring veterinarians to diagnose, treat, and manage a wide variety of complex diseases. You will work alongside experienced specialists and utilize advanced technical skills in a supportive, learning-focused environment.Responsibilities
- Assist Internal Medicine specialists during appointments and medical workups
- Manage multiple complex medical cases throughout the day
- Place advanced IV catheters and perform venipuncture
- Perform accurate drug calculations and medication administration
- Run in-house laboratory diagnostics and prepare samples for reference laboratories
- Assist with advanced diagnostics including endoscopy, ultrasound, digital radiology, blood pressure monitoring, glucose monitoring
- Maintain accurate, legally compliant medical records
- Communicate with clients regarding treatment plans, financial estimates, test results, and discharge instructions
- Participate in daily nursing rounds and collaborative case discussions
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a Veterinary Internal Medicine specialty department OR Licensed/Certified Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT)
- Strong technical and nursing skills
- Knowledge of veterinary pharmacology and patient care
- Comfortable learning new technology and medical software
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English; additional language skills are a plus
Qualifications
