Interior Upholstery Technician - Weekend Shift - 1460

About the role

This position is for an Interior Upholstery Technician at West Star Aviation. The role involves repairing, refurbishing, and reinstalling interior upholstery components on business aircraft. The shift is Saturday through Monday, 6am-6:30pm, with a 11.11% shift differential and a 3-day workweek.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic to advanced foam build-ups, patterning, and sewing of seat parts and other upholstery items.
• Remove and install seats, disassemble, clean, repair, and modify components as needed.
• Work independently when required.
• Communicate effectively (speaking, writing, reading) in English.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• A valid driver's license for airline travel and/or a valid passport (ideal but not required).
• Experience: Tech I (0-2 years), Tech II (2-4 years), Tech III (4-6 years), Master Tech (6+ years) in upholstery in aviation, auto, RV, Marine, or related fields.

Qualifications

• Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable transportation to work.
• Knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
• Ability to work under specific deadlines and time constraints.

Skills

• Basic to advanced upholstery skills.
• Computer skills for navigating electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
• Physical abilities: lifting up to 50 lbs, routine walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and standing for long periods.
• Mental abilities: understanding and implementing regulations, guidelines, and company policies.

Pay & Schedule

• Hourly rate generally ranges between $20-$35.
• Shift differential of 11.11% for weekend shifts.
