Interior Upholstery Technician - Weekend Shift - 1460

About the role

This position is for an Interior Upholstery Technician at West Star Aviation. The role involves repairing, refurbishing, and reinstalling interior upholstery components on business aircraft. The shift is Saturday through Monday, 6am-6:30pm, with a 11.11% shift differential and a 3-day workweek.

Responsibilities

• General upholstery on aircraft - seats, panels, and other interior items
• Perform minor modifications
• Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment, and tooling
• Basic computer skills for navigating electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases
• Cleanliness of shop and surroundings
• Work independently when required
• Communicate effectively (speaking, writing, reading) in English
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• A valid driver's license for airline travel and/or a valid passport (ideal but not required)
• Experience: Tech I (0-2 years), Tech II (2-4 years), Tech III (4-6 years), Master Tech (6+ years)

Qualifications

• Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable transportation to work
• Comply with FAA guidelines and follow company and safety rules
• Customer-oriented work habits
• Ability to assist in major modification work as needed

Skills

• Ability to perform basic to advanced foam build-ups, patterning, and sewing of seat parts and other upholstery items
• Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines including OSHA, Hazmat, etc.

Pay & Schedule

• Hourly rate generally ranges between $20-$35
• Shift Differential: 11.11%
• Work Schedule: Saturday through Monday, 6am-6:30pm
