Interior Upholstery Technician - 2nd shift - 1468

About the role

This position is available for second shift work from Monday to Thursday, 3pm-1am. The shift incentive includes a 10% -15% premium, paid lunch, 3 day weekends, formal airframe training and eligibility to transfer to first shift after 3 years.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic to advanced foam build ups, patterning and sewing of seat parts and other upholstery items.
  • Ability to perform minor modifications.
  • Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling.
  • Basic computer skills to be able to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
  • Cleanliness of shop and surroundings.
  • Work independently when required.
  • Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English.
  • Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
  • Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.
  • Maintain customer oriented work habits.
  • Assist in major modification work as needed.

Requirements

  • A High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not required.
  • Tech I: 0-2 years of experience on upholstery in aviation, auto, RV, Marine or related field.
  • Tech II: 2 - 4 years of experience on upholstery in aviation, auto, RV, Marine or related field.
  • Tech III: 4-6 years of experience on upholstery in aviation, auto, RV, Marine or related field.
  • Master Tech: 6+ years’ experience in aviation upholstery.

Qualifications

  • Self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable transportation to get to work each and every day.

Skills

  • Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines including but not limited to OSHA, Hazmat, etc.
  • Read and comprehend various documents.
  • Plan and organize procedures and operations.
  • Supervise work under supervision of assigned Team Leader and Interior Management.
  • Work with others in a professional manner.
