Interior Technician - Weekend Shift - 1462

About the role

This position is available for weekend shifts at West Star Aviation, a leading MRO provider with multiple facilities across the US. The role involves working on sophisticated private aircraft, performing tasks like removing and installing carpets, insulation, and soundproofing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform removal and installation of carpeting, insulation, and soundproofing.
  • Varying amounts of parts replacement/repair, basic electrical system installation, modifications, refurbishments, and general mechanical applications on aircraft interiors.
  • Work independently when required.
  • Communicate effectively (speaking, writing, reading) in English.
  • Perform general mechanical items on aircraft interiors and related systems.
  • Perform minor modifications with minimal direction.
  • Complete daily turnover sheets, work order processes, and weight and balance data.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the shop and surroundings.
  • Assist in major modification work as needed.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid driver's license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not required.
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable transportation to work each day.
  • Ability to follow Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
  • Good understanding of OSHA, Hazmat, and other relevant regulations.

Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
  • Physical requirements: lift and carry at least 50 lbs, routine walking, bending, squatting, sitting, climbing ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas.
  • Mental requirements: understand and implement regulations and guidelines, plan and organize procedures and operations, read various reports and blueprints.

Skills

  • Basic mechanical skills.
  • Hands-on experience with sheet metal cutters, glue guns, and metal benders.
  • Knowledge of electrical power tools such as sanders, saws, power drills, etc.
  • Understanding of aircraft interiors and systems.

Pay & Schedule

  • The hourly rate generally ranges between $20-$35, with a shift differential of 11.11% for weekend shifts.
