Interior Upholstery Technician - 2nd Shift - 1016

About the role

This is a full-time on-site position available in East Alton, IL, USA. West Star is a rapidly growing maintenance repair organization dedicated to providing its employees with personal and professional growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Repair, refurbish, and reinstall interior upholstery components on business aircraft.
• Perform general upholstery tasks on seats, panels, and other interior items.
• Remove and install seats, disassemble, clean, repair, and modify components as needed.
• Follow specific deadlines and work under the direction of the Team Leader.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• A valid driver's license for airline travel (optional).
• Experience in upholstery in aviation, auto, RV, Marine, or related fields.
• Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable transportation and ability to work shifts including weekends.
• Knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration guidelines and company safety rules.

Qualifications

• Patterning and sewing of seat parts and other upholstery items.
• Performing minor modifications.
• Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment, and tooling.
• Basic computer skills for navigating electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
• Cleanliness of shop and surroundings.
• Effective communication (speaking, writing, reading) in English.

Pay

The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $20-$35. Additional compensation includes a shift differential and a semi-annual discretionary bonus.

Schedule

This position offers second shift work.
