About the role
This is a full-time on-site position available in East Alton, IL, USA. West Star is a rapidly growing MRO provider committed to employee growth and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Repair, refurbish, and reinstall interior upholstery components on business aircraft.
- Perform tasks such as foam build-ups, patterning, and sewing of seat parts and other upholstery items.
- Perform daily turnover sheets.
- Maintain and repair shop facility, equipment, and tooling.
- Navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
- Cleanliness of shop and surroundings.
- Communicate effectively (speaking, writing, reading) in English.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid driver's license for airline travel and/or a valid passport (ideal but not required).
- Experience in upholstery in aviation, auto, RV, Marine, or related fields.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, perform routine walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and standing.
- Routine use of personal hand tools, electrical power tools, and computers.
- Understanding of OSHA, Hazmat, and FAA guidelines.
- Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable transportation to work.
- Compliance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
- Professional communication skills.
Qualifications

Pay
The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $20-$35. Additional compensation in the form of a shift differential may be provided.
Schedule
This is a second shift position. Details regarding the specific schedule will be provided upon hire.
