About the role
This is a full-time on-site position at West Star Aviation in East Alton, IL. Responsibilities
- Repair, refurbish, and reinstall interior upholstery components on business aircraft
- Perform basic to advanced foam build-ups, patterning, and sewing of seat parts and other upholstery items
- Remove and install seats, disassemble, clean, repair, and modify components as needed
- Work independently and effectively communicate (speak, write, read) in English
- Perform daily turnover sheets, maintain shop and surroundings cleanliness, and follow safety guidelines
- May supervise other technicians under minimal supervision
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A valid driver's license for airline travel (optional)
- Experience in upholstery in aviation, auto, RV, marine, or related fields
- Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable transportation and ability to work flexible hours including weekends
- Knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration guidelines and company policies
Qualifications

- Computer skills for navigating electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases
- Physical abilities to lift 50 lbs, walk, bend, squat, sit, and perform repetitive motions
- Communication skills (speaking, writing, reading)
- Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines including OSHA, Hazmat, etc.
