Interior Upholstery Technician

Responsibilities

• Repair, refurbish, and reinstall interior upholstery components on business aircraft
• Perform general upholstery tasks such as seating and panel installation
• Remove and install aircraft seats, disassemble, clean, repair, and modify components as necessary
• Follow daily turnover sheets and maintain cleanliness of the shop and surroundings
• Communicate effectively (speaking, writing, reading) in English
• Perform minor modifications and assist in major modifications as needed
• Maintain customer-oriented work habits and follow FAA guidelines

Requirements

• A High school diploma or equivalent
• A valid driver's license for airline travel (optional)
• Valid passport (optional)
• Technician I: 0-2 years’ experience as a seamstress or similar trade
• Technician II: 2-5 years’ experience working on aircraft seats and upholstery
• Technician III: 5+ years’ experience working on aircraft seats and upholstery

Qualifications

• Self-motivated and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently and under specific deadlines
• Reliable transportation to work each day
• Notify supervisor in advance if unable to work

Skills

• Basic to advanced foam build-ups and patterning
• Sewing of seat parts and other upholstery items
• Basic computer skills for navigating training materials, manuals, and databases
• Effective communication (speaking, writing, reading) in English
