About the role
This position involves fabricating complex high-quality furniture and other wood-surfaced subassemblies for installation in business aircraft. Tasks include parts replacements or repairs, basic electrical system installations, and general mechanical applications. Modifications, refurbishments, and fabrications of aircraft cabinets are the primary functions.
Responsibilities
- Perform general mechanical functions on aircraft cabinets and related systems.
- Remove and install cabinets, modify, re-laminating, veneering, or fabricate new cabinets.
- Ability to perform minor modifications.
- Maintain cleanliness of shop and surroundings.
- Communicate effectively (speaking, writing, reading) in English.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Tech I 0-2 years, Tech II 2-4 years, Tech III 4-6 years, Master Tech 6+ years in aviation, auto, RV, Marine or related fields.
- Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable transportation to work.
- Follow Federal Aviation Administration guidelines and company safety rules.
- Customer-oriented work habits.
- Assist in major modification work as needed.
Qualifications
- Close supervision and constant check-ins on work performance for Tech I.
- General supervision and instructions for Tech II.
- Minimal supervision and no instruction needed for Tech III and Master Tech.
- Subject matter expertise for Master Tech.
Skills
- Ability to perform minor modifications.
- Basic computer skills for navigating electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
- Physical requirements: lift 50 lbs, routine walking, bending, squatting, sitting, routing or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands, standing for long periods, climbing ladders and stairs, working in small restricted areas.
- Mental requirements: understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines, work with others in a professional manner, read and comprehend various documents, plan and organize procedures and operations, supervise technicians when required.
