About the role

This is a Full-Time On-Site position at West Star Aviation in Chattanooga, TN.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate complex high-quality furniture and other wood-surfaced subassemblies for installation in business aircraft.
• Perform parts replacements or repairs, basic electrical system installations, and general mechanical applications.
• Modify, refurbish, and fabricate aircraft cabinets.
• Complete daily turnover sheets.
• Maintain and repair shop facility, equipment, and tooling.
• Navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
• Communicate effectively (speak, write, read) in English.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Tech I (0-2 years), Tech II (2-4 years), Tech III (4-6 years), Master Tech (6+ years).
• Close supervision for Tech I, general supervision for Tech II, limited supervision for Tech III, and no supervision for Master Tech.
• Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment with specific deadlines.
• Reliable transportation to work.
• Comply with FAA guidelines and follow company and safety rules.
• Customer-oriented work habits.
• Assist in major modification work as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in aviation, auto, RV, Marine, or related fields.
• Full knowledge of the job and complete understanding of detailed aspects for Master Tech.
• Subject matter expert with wide and comprehensive knowledge of the job for Master Tech.

Skills

• Ability to perform minor modifications.
• Basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
• General mechanical functions on aircraft cabinets and related systems.
• Read and comprehend various documents.
• Plan and organize procedures and operations.
• Supervise technicians when required.
