Interim Director of Women's Services

About the Role

A Texas hospital is seeking their next Interim Director of Women’s Services to oversee Labor & Delivery, OB Emergency services, surgical services, and Level II NICU operations while maintaining safe, high-quality maternal and newborn care.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of approximately 92 FTEs across Women’s Services and NICU.
• Strengthen staffing practices, conduct cross-training, and support team development.
• Ensure operational coordination for consistent care delivery.
• Build trust and stability through visible, relationship-based leadership.
• Mentor staff and emerging leaders, establishing clear expectations for professional practice and accountability.
• Partner with physicians, neonatal providers, and interdisciplinary teams to support clinical quality, fetal surveillance practices, workflow alignment, and effective coordination across maternal and newborn services.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• A minimum of five years of management experience within a related setting is required.
• Strong Women’s Services leadership experience, emotional intelligence, and a collaborative yet accountable approach.
• Ability to start within 2–3 weeks of acceptance.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in Women’s Services leadership, with the ability to navigate change, rebuild confidence, and establish sustainable practices that support staff engagement and excellent patient outcomes.

Pay

Compensation Range: $160,000 to $170,000 annually. The final compensation rate will be determined based on experience, education, training, location, internal equity, and budget considerations, in accordance with Fair Market Value evaluation.
