About the role
LSI is a trusted human services agency in Iowa serving children, adults, and families for over 160 years. We are seeking an Intake and Resource Referral Specialist to serve as the initial point of contact for inquiries regarding services, supporting immigrants and refugees in reducing barriers to work and community integration.
Responsibilities
- Provide the first point of contact for inquiries for services, supporting individuals in reducing barriers to work and community integration.
- Process and assist with referrals, intakes, and assessments through phone calls, walk-ins, and emails for LSI’s Immigrant and Refugee Community Services.
- Collaborate with the Coordinator team, Program Supervisors, and/or Caseworkers to assess referrals, admissions, and services to ensure high-quality, efficient service delivery aligned with client goals.
- Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required.
Requirements
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in health or human services related field, or a minimum of two years' experience in social services, case management, intake/referral services, and/or immigrant and refugee community services.
- Minimum: Bachelor's degree in a human services or related field, or a High school diploma with four years of experience in working with or providing services to children and families.
- Experience should demonstrate proficiency in offering customer service and community engagement, and navigating community resources for underserved populations.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written; proficiency in a language spoken by LSI's clients is desired.
