About the role

Barrett Middle School is seeking a part-time Elementary Instructional Assistant to support their educational programs. This position is available in multiple schedules (Calendar 18A, 18B, and 18C).

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in managing classroom activities.
• Support students in various learning environments, including Special Day Classes and General Education settings.
• Run small groups and assist in large groups as needed.
• Provide additional support to students with special needs, including those with Learning Handicaps, Communicative Handicaps, and Emotional Disturbances.
• Drive school vehicles as required, with a valid California Class C Driver License.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid California Class C Driver License (if applicable).
• Pre-qualification through a proficiency exam or CBEST score.
• Two years of college transcripts or an A.A. degree (for Title I sites).
• Experience working with children and/or students with disabilities.

Qualifications

• Instructional Assistant I: Relevant experience with groups of children.
• Instructional Assistant II: Experience with mild/moderate cases in Special Day Classes or General Education settings.
• Instructional Assistant III: Experience with severe/emotionally disturbed students, including coursework in child development.

Pay

(IA I) $18.11 - $20.65 per hour
(IA II) $18.58 - $24.47 per hour
(IA III) $19.66 - $25.93 per hour

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
