Pay

$20.64 - $27.23 per hour (CSEA General Unit Salary Schedule)

Schedule

• 9 months/year (18B calendar)
• 206 days/year
• 5 days/week (Monday - Friday)
• 6 hours/day (7:45 AM - 2:15 PM)

Responsibilities

Instructional Assistant IIIs support students with severe or emotional disturbances in a 1:1 student aide role. Duties include:

• Working with students who have learning handicaps or communicative handicaps
• Assisting in programs for students designated as emotionally disturbed (ED), autism classes, or assigned to a Behaviorist
• Supporting individual students as needed

In some programs, possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain, a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire may be required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (must be attached to application)
• One of the following (must be attached to application):
  • Passing score from San Juan Unified School District's Proficiency Exam (April 2005 or later)
  • Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST)
• Relevant experience or training demonstrating knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties

Qualifications

• Experience working with groups of children
• Experience working with impaired children or adults (highly desirable)
• Coursework in child development (highly desirable)
• List relevant experience on the application in addition to providing required documentation
