• 9 months per year (18B calendar)
• 206 days per year
• 5 days per week, Monday – Friday
• 6-hour work day: 7:45 AM – 2:15 PM

About the role

Instructional Assistant I / II providing 1:1 support to students served in Resource, Learning Handicap, or Communicatively Handicap programs. Typical duties include running small groups, assisting students in large groups in both Special Day Class and General Education settings, and supporting the teacher’s needs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (must be attached to application)
• One of the following (must be attached to application):
  • Passing score from San Juan Unified School District’s Proficiency Exam (April 2005 or later)
  • Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST)
• Any combination of experience and training that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties
• In some programs: possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain, a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire
