Inside Sales

Inside Sales representatives provide product expertise on building materials including drywall, insulation, metal studs, ceiling systems, stucco, construction tools, safety items, drywall compound, and related accessories.

Responsibilities

• Take orders at the sales counter and over the phone.
• Build and maintain customer relationships.
• Use company computer system to enter orders.
• Complete sales orders and process cash sales.
• Develop in-depth product knowledge to assist customers with purchases.
• Collaborate with Outside Sales Reps and Sales Managers to determine strategic sales approaches.
• Overcome objections of prospective customers.
• Emphasize product/service features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales order forms and reports.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; four-year degree preferred.
• Ability to self-manage, show initiative, and be comfortable meeting the public.
• Team player with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Problem-solving and task prioritization abilities.
• Ability to manage stress, meet deadlines, and handle ongoing projects.
• Multitasking and quick communication of solutions if problems occur.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position in an office environment 50% of the time.
• Frequent movement inside the office to access files and office machinery.
• Must be able to operate basic office machinery.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with team and management.
• Constantly working in an office environment.

Pay

The base salary for this position typically ranges from $20.00 to $23.00 per hour. Starting wage may vary based on factors including location, education, training, and experience. Hourly associates may be eligible for overtime based on business needs and may also qualify for performance-based bonus programs, commissions, car allowance, or travel expense reimbursement.
